Vaughan and Vaughan was started in 1913 by Vincent D.
Vaughan and Charles L. Vaughan. The firm has a long history of trial
successes and offers collective experience spanning 95 years. The firm
concentrates
in serious personal injury, condemnation law, and complex
business litigation. Vaughan and Vaughan also handles probate and estate
matters.
The firm may be best known for its representation of
Ryan White in 1986 and 1987. Ryan White was excluded from attending school
in Kokomo, Indiana, because he suffered from AIDS. Charles R. Vaughan and
Charles V. Vaughan fought to change the law and succeeded in returning Ryan
to school despite his illness. Their courageous representation led to the
enactment of the federal Ryan White Act and helped to lessen discrimination against
AIDs victims across the country.
